FARMHOUSE LA BUCA DI MONTAUTO

The holiday farm La Buca di Montauto is perfectly located on a hill less than 1km from the medieval town of San Gimignano, famous worldwide for its towers and registered in the list of UNESCO’s World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The estate is 30km to Volterra, 40km to Siena, 55km to Florence, and 75km to Pisa.
The estate enjoys splendid views of the gorgeous Tuscan countryside, and it is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
This peaceful haven, immersed in the calm and the tranquillity of the countryside, it’s a perfect place to relax and open your heart and senses to new experiences. The farmhouse has been recently restored with great care and it has been turned in a lovely Agriturismo which now offers two rooms (Camera La Fattoressa – The Farm Keeper - and Camera Il Contadino – The Farmer) and two apartments (Appartamento Il Vignaiuolo - Apartment The Vine Dresser - and Appartamento Lo Speziale – Apartment The Old Chemist). Each room and apartment have its own private bathroom and independent entrance, and they are comfortably furnished in typical Tuscan style retaining most of the original characteristics of the house, such as wooden beams and typical terra cotta ceilings. The rooms and the apartments are spacious and comfortable. They are all on the ground floor and enjoy a stunning view over the medieval San Gimignano, known as “the town of the beautiful towers” .
Both apartments and rooms are fitted with all modern comforts: satellite TV, independent heating, front terrace area furnished with table and chairs for dining alfresco, and a barbecue for guests’ use. The swimming pool (7m x 14m) enjoys lovely views of the towers of San Gimignano, and it is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, a funny slide for the youngest guests, table tennis and table football.
Being a working farm, La Buca di Montauto is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves and besides the harvesting of grapes and the picking of the olives, there is an interesting wild boar rearing activity. The owners will be happy to offer their guests a visit throughout the farm and to the cellars. La Buca di Montauto is a perfect location for enjoying country walks in the olive groves and in the vineyards of the estate or along the rustic footpaths which deepen in the verdant countryside all around.
Meals are not served at the farm, but the city centre of San Gimignano offers a wide selection of excellent restaurants.
